KINGMAMBO's fee has increased almost steadily during his 10 seasons at stud, from $45,000 his first three seasons, to $150,000 in 2000, and $225,000 in 2001. KINGMAMBO stood the 2002 and 2003 seasons for $200,000 before standing at $225,000 last year.

He is the sire of three champions, 50 stakes winners, including 28 group or graded stakes winners, and 32 stakes-placed runners from his first eight crops.

He joins AP Indy on a $US300,000 fee in 2005. The only other North American stallion who stands for a more is Storm Cat, who will stand the 2005 season at Overbrook Farm in Lexington for $US500,000.

KINGMAMBO's sire MR. PROSPECTOR, a multiple Champion Sire in the USA, is a noted sire of sires (Gulch, Woodman, Forty Niner, Conquistador Cielo, Fappiano, Seeking the Gold, Gone West, Miswaki, and sons like Faltaat, Bellotto and Mr Henrysee in Australasia) while KINGMAMBO's dam is the fabulous Miesque (Nureyev), a multiple Gr,1 winner and producer whose other runners include East of the Moon, Miesque's Son and Mingun.

"Sire of the year ... this KINGMAMBO is the business. I think he has made a staggering start at stud. If he continues at this rate, he will certainly challenge Fappiano for supremacy among all MR. PROSPECTOR sons, and he has the potential to be the most important sire in North America after Storm Cat. No young sire in my memory has covered so many bases, in a short time, as far as creating the opportunities to become a successful sire of sires"
... Bill Oppenheim, Thoroughbred Daily News

"KINGMAMBO has achieved legitimate superstar status" …………Alan Porter, T.D.N. (USA)
KINGMAMBO syndicate shares sold to US$1.8 million in 2001.
